** City of Cerritos Tree lighting Ceremony - The City of Cerritos will be having their Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Monday 11/21 at the City Hall/Library from 5:30 to 7pm. They have made arrangements for us to have a table where we can represent the CHS Wind Symphony and ask for donations.

** ROG Championship - Our Championship will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Huntington Beach High School at 1905 Main Street, Huntington Beach, CA 92648. Invite all your friends and family to attend so that we can cheer for our band from the stand. Our performance time will be at 7 p.m. and Mr. Trost will give out a timetable later this week.

** Completion of Sheet Sale - Students who are in the second half of the sheet sales please remember the total will be due on Wednesday, November 16, 2011. The sales have been tremendous. Thanks everyone for participating.

** Mayor of Cerritos Donation Presentation on November 15, 2011 - At 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 The Mayor of Cerritos, Carol Chen, will be presenting a donation of $1,000 to the Cerritos High School Wind Symphony for their planned performance at the 2012 Olympics in London.

** ROG Competition on November 12, 2011 - Our Band brought home SIX trophies on the November 12th competition held at San Gorgonio High School including sweepstake. What an AWESOME job everyone!

** ROG Booster Parent T-Shirts - If you are interested in purchasing a ROG shirt for yourself (same shirt as band members), they are available by pre-payment. Sizes small - X-large are $12 each, XXL and up are $15 each. Please pay Mr. Trost with cash or a check made out to CHS Band as soon as possible and let him know what size you need. The shirts are optional but is a GREAT way to show support for our school. If you have any questions, please ask Stella.

** October 24, 2011, Monday - Cookie Dough funraiser is done and money are due!

** October 17, 2011, Monday - Wind Symphony fund raising meeting is every Monday at 7pm in the CHS Band Room. Much was discussed in the meeting. Please make plans to attend these meetings.

** October 15, 2011, Friday - CHS Band had their first field competition at Ayala High School. Everyone worked extremely hard and did an awesome job!

** October 3, 2011, Monday - We will have a kick-off meeting for Wind Symphony Parents this Monday, October 3rd at 7pm in the CHS Band Room. Please make plans to attend this meeting.

** September 27, 2011, Tuesday - Don't forget Tuesday is Back to School Night. CHS Marching Band will be performing at 6:10 to kick off the evening. All band members need to be in long jeans.

** September 26, 2011, Monday - The audition results for the CHS Wind Symphony have been posted in the band room. Congratulations to all 55 students who were chosen to represent CHS at the Olympics in London, 2012!

** September 19, 2011, Monday - CHS Band will be recognized by the City Council at 7:00PM for last year's performance at Carnegie Hall and for being invited to perform at the Summer Olympics in Europe in 2012. Come to the City Hall for this meeting and show your support for CHS Band.

** September 12, 2011, Monday - Fundraising meeting from 7 - 9 p.m. - This fundraising meeting is for the Wind Symphony's trip to the London Olympics in 2012. This is not a general fundraising meeting and will not involve color guard parents. For those CHS Band Parents who are interested in having their child attend the Wind Symphony's trip to London Olympics in 2012, we will be holding a meeting to do some brainstorming this coming Monday the 12th at 7pm. The location will be 13047 Artesia Blvd., Suite 204 (top of the stairs on the Artesia side). Refreshments will be provided. Please bring all fundraising ideas. Also please let Mark Pritchard, our Fundraising Chairman, know by email that you got this email and that you will be able to attend. If you are unable to attend please email any and all your ideas.
